What are we?

Based in the city of Nelson in the beautiful West Kootenay region of British Columbia, RYDA is a small, multi-disciplinary design studio that specializes in creating simple and elegant design solutions for web, print and visual identity.

RYDA is an ethically aware company. We're not exactly what you might call tree huggers – but we care about the planet we live on and we make every effort to have the smallest possible footprint.

It may be an old cliche, but when we're not working hard, we're playing even harder. Nelson and the surrounding West Kootenay area suits the needs of our staff to engage in self-propelled wilderness-oriented recreation activities like kayaking, mountain biking and hiking. So you could argue that our environmentalist attitude has a somewhat selfish motivation: we don't want to paddle in dirty water or hike over polluted land, through forests of garbage bag littered trees, breathing in foul air.

That's why we try to consume responsibly, we recycle everything we can and we shop locally wherever possible. We try to do our bit.

We work mainly for commercial organizations. There's no escaping that. But we're choosy who we work for. And as long as you aren't willfully damaging our planet, taking advantage of sweatshop labor or doing other dastardly deeds, maybe we could work for you too?
